讲座摘要

Vortices have been observed at various altitudes in the solar atmosphere, and they are believed to potentially play significant rolesin heating the solar upper atmosphere. A number of automated vortex detection methods have been developed and applied to identify vortices. In this presentation, I will provide a brief overview of the automated swirl detection algorithm(ASDA) we have developed, as well as the corresponding scientific discoveries resulting from the detection of small-scale swirls in the solar atmosphere using ASDA. Before introducing a series of our recent studies aimed at improving ASDA to address these known limitations, I will also discuss some of the algorithm's recognized shortcomings.

嘉宾介绍

刘佳佳，中国科学技术大学特任教授，地球和空间科学学院空间科学与技术单元主任。曾获邀赴英国下议院做报告、当选英国皇家天文学会太阳物理委员会首位华人委员及担任国际空间天气和空间气候奖项委员会副主席。2019年荣获国际空间天气和空间气候亚历山大·切热夫斯基奖，2021年入选国家海外高层次青年人才计划。现任国际天文联合会天文发展办公室评委、英国皇家学会URF基金独立评委(2025)中国科学技术大学深空技术研究院执行委员会委员、中国空间科学学会空间科学大数据专业委员会委员。主要研究方向为太阳多尺度活动现象及其空间天气效应。在包括Nat.Comm.和Nat.Astro.在内的国际知名SCI期刊发表学术论文60余篇，总引用超过1400次。目前主持或参与多项国家自然科学基金、重点研发和中科院先导项目。
