讲座摘要

The short-term earthquake forecast still remains the long-living field ofdiscussions and low progress in practical application.We consider that onlyphysical approach can provide a reliable background for real earthquakeforecasting,as earthquake preparation is a chain of the physical-chemicalprocesses.We look for the ways how the earth can “communicate”withatmosphere and ionosphere.We consider the gas release as a main source ofimpact on the atmospheric boundary layer through its ionization by radonalpha decay and gamma emission as indicator of the decay processes.Weconsider step by step the consequences of this process as the complex chainof physical and chemical reactions,energy transformation leading to the latenheat release,meteorologic anomalies,generation of quasi-statice electricfield,Global Electric Circuit modification and generation of the large-scaleirregularities in the ionosphere.


嘉宾介绍

Prof. Sergey Pulinets is a Principal Research Scientist in the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. He has more than 40 years of experience in the field of space plasma physics, ionospheric physics, space weather and geohazards research. He substantiated and applied a new method of global ionospheric monitoring-high-frequency radio spectroscopy-on a number of Soviet satellites. His pioneering work in the field of the impact of ionization processes on the atmosphere made it possible to create a complex model of physical processes in the Lithosphere-Atmosphere-Ionosphere  system, which is currently used for predictive monitoring of short-term earthquake precursors. He is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the Chinese satellite CSES Mission. According to resource Research.com S.A.Pulinets ranked 10 in Russia in the field of Earth Science and awarded with Earth Science Leader Award for 2025.
